Hello again Lovely Innkeepers!

A Very Happy New Year to all!! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year and is raring to go for the new year!

Google+ for business pages continues to be a hot topic as well as impacting search results. Pinterest is also a hot topic in the news and continues to gain interest online.

While this marketing fiasco has no relation at all to Bed and Breakfasts, it is an interesting read, and if you google the name of the gentleman (if you can call him that) you can see that the whole thing has turned into on online storm for both himself and the company (he used to) work for.

The lesson that innkeepers can take away from this can be summed up nicely in a quote about what CAN happen to a customer service issue when it explodes and the repercussions when it ends up in the hands (or on the blogs) of an online influencer.

"Whether the moral of that is always to behave as if your communications could be shared with an audience of millions, or to play the percentages and hope to avoid this kind of blow-up through sheer probability is probably a matter for the individual conscience."

Reminder to past and new readers: Please try to address the action items (a note will be next to items  in this newsletter marked in red) because they are IMPORTANT! saying (action item) Recommended at least to skim.
